About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our remote engineering team. In this role, you will lead the development of our Java-based cloud backend applications and platforms, as well as manage a small team of developers.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable Java code
2. Lead the full software development life cycle, concept, design, test, release, and support
3. Produce clean, testable, and well-documented code
4. Troubleshoot issues and bugs in existing systems
5. Implement best practices for security, scalability, and maintainability
6. Work collaboratively with product managers and engineers to understand the requirements
7. Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior developers
8. Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends in Java, cloud platforms, DevOps, and agile methodologies
9. Manage a small team of Java developers, mentor, guide, oversee work, and provide feedback

Requirements:

1. 5+ years of professional experience as a Java developer
2. Expert knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, J2EE, concurrency and multi-threading
3. Experience with test-driven development and unit/integration testing
4. Hands-on experience with build tools (Maven), version control (Git), and CI/CD
5. Familiarity with microservices, containers, and orchestration tools
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
7. Moreover, the ability to work independently as well as collaborate cross-functionally is essential for success in this role.
8. B.Sc./M.Sc. in Computer Science or related field
9. Experience leading and mentoring other developers
